Each year, the Pride of Britain Awards champion the everyday heroes across Britain for singular acts of courage, long-lasting battles against the odds, persistent campaigning, small acts of kindness, and much more.
It's a dazzling event with a red carpet to match, but this year the ceremony went virtual with stars glamming up and awarding trophies online.
The emotional event was even more moving this year, as the outbreak of Covid-19 pushed people, healthcare workers, teachers, families and even a few of the high profile presenters to their limit. Kate Garraway made an emotional appearance to thank the NHS for caring for her husband Derek, who contracted the virus months ago and has been in intensive care since.
She spoke with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during her segment, with Kate dazzling in a smart navy suit and rainbow-print blouse, a nod to the NHS.
"You can never find enough words to say thank you!" she said.
Prince Charles, who also contracted the virus, made a surprise appearance to present an award, while Captain Sir Tom Moore was awarded the Special Recognition award for inspiring people to keep active and positive with his walking challenge during lockdown in March.
It was an event brimming with pride, and not just British pride. Never missing an opportunity to spotlight some homegrown talent, Laura Whitmore used her presenting slot to champion one of Ireland's most interesting and sought-after designers.
Whitmore was on hand to help none other than Prince Charles award Rebecca Beattie with the Prince's Trust Young Achiever Award for her work speaking out about domestic abuse. Beattie uses her fashion brand to speak out about domestic abuse and help others, so it was fitting that she be interviewed by one of our fiercest style icons.
Known for her effortless ability to rock a suit, Whitmore chose a bright scarlet two-piece by Joanne Hynes for the lavish occasion. The sharp suit featured cropped trousers and a striking blazer featuring turned up cuffs, contrasting stripes on the arms and matching clasp belt to cinch in the waist, accented with a gold buckle to match the gold blazer buttons.
Hyne's designs are full of bold and expressive prints, so Whitmore paired her suit with a bright pink, red and white shirt, buttoned up to the neck.
She finished her look with a pair of sleek black pointed toe stilettos, her hair lightly waved and her makeup fresh and minimal.
