We’re used to seeing Jennifer Lopez with a super-sleek ponytail whenever hair stylist Chris Appleton is on glam duty, but now the star has unveiled a bold new ‘do.
"JLo got bangs today," Appleton announced on Instagram, next to a photo showing Lopez with wavy caramel locks and a long choppy fringe.
The shaggy style is like a modern update on the classic Seventies layered look made famous by Farrah Fawcett, and it really suits JLo, emphasising her incredible bone structure and flawless skin.
The 51-year-old’s new cut is a timely reminder of how flattering a fringe can be, and how fun it is to switch up your look every once in a while.
Thinking about going in for the chop yourself? Here are five other celebrities who look fabulous with a fringe…
1. Daisy Edgar-Jones

Not only was Normal People the most talked-about TV series of the summer, star of the show Daisy Edgar-Jones, who played Marianne, had the most in-demand haircut, later revealing she got her fringe because she wanted a change after narrowly missing out on another role.
"I was so upset that I actually did the thing you do when you break up with someone, I got a break-up haircut – which was my fringe!" the British actor said on the How To Fail podcast. "Which has since been the best decision I’ve ever made because I genuinely think it’s the only reason I got Marianne, because she has a fringe."
2. Taylor Swift

Proving a fringe doesn’t have to be high maintenance, Taylor Swift lets her face-framing locks grow long and alternates between poker-straight bangs and naturally curly tresses.
3. Zooey Deschanel
Long-term fringe fan Zooey Deschanel is famous for her lustrous brunette bangs. The New Girl actor wears her fringe long and blow-dried into a glossy blunt ‘do, or swept into a subtle middle parting.
4. Jameela Jamil

Another fan of the middle-parted fringe look, Jameela Jamil’s ‘curtain bangs’ are a vintage-inspired vision, and a masterclass in how to make a thick fringe softer and more flattering.
5. Emma Watson

Want to really transform your tresses? Emma Watson gave us the ultimate in fringe-spiration back in 2018 with this daring micro-fringe.
Super-short bangs can be a bit severe if the cut is too blunt, but the Harry Potter star softened the look, teaming a very choppy fringe with chocolate brown shoulder-length waves.
