They've been keeping busy since relocating to Los Angeles, so it was a rare treat to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle kicking back and hitting the town for a special date night.

The couple have ramped up their activism in recent months, with Meghan making high-profile appearances in campaigns and digital events and discussing everything from women's rights to voter registration.

The couple stepped out on the town to celebrate with friends David Foster and Katherine McPhee, who have just announced they are expecting their first child together. The foursome went to Lucky's, a local steakhouse in the glamorous neighbourhood Montecito, where they all live.

Renowned hit-maker Foster and singer McPhee have become a close friends of the couple since they moved to the US.

The pair looked casual and relaxed, with Meghan wearing a typically sophisticated ensemble. The ever-stylish Duchess wore a pair of cropped black leather-look trousers with a high-necked, loose fit camel coloured jumper that complimented her colouring perfectly.

On top of this, Meghan wore a classic trench coat with a twist, as the nude coloured jacket featured wide and cropped sleeves, an unusual take on the timeless silhouette. She wore this draped over her shoulders as the pair entered the restaurant.

However, it was all about the shoes, their vivid orange colour popping even more thanks to the neutral-hued outfit. Always ready to impress with her taste in footwear, Meghan chose a pair of sunshine-bright orange kitten heels by Chloe Gosselin.

The 'Kasia' style features a low heel and pointed toe in a vibrant orange suede, accented by a bamboo buckle on the front, and is one of the designers most sought-after styles.

Meghan kept the rest of her look simple and pared back, with her long brown hair worn in loose waves around her face, and her makeup fresh and bright. A smart black faux leather handbag by Stella McCartney and a simple nude protective face mask were her only other accessories.
