She's given us a summer full of sweet sundresses, floral frocks and smart separates, but once the colder weather hits Kate Middleton is just as adept at dressing for the occasion.
The Duchess of Cambridge is famously outdoorsy, favouring gardening and activities as much as she does a reason to dress up in her favourite designers, and she takes every opportunity to show off her savvy style.
Kate switched up her weekly schedule with a surprise visit to the 12th Northolt Scout Group in west London, to mark her new role as the joint president of the Scout Association with the Duke of Kent.
Kate has long been a supporter of the organisation, celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2016 and visiting the Scouts' headquarters last year to learn more about the organisation.
Making the most of the clear autumn day, Middleton took part in roasting marshmallows over a bonfire, arts and crafts and writing letters to local care homes with the young children. She was also awarded the Silver Wolf Award medal, the Scout Association's highest award.
She switched up her look too, dressing down in a simple pair of jeans and a shirt for the casual day. Digging into her wardrobe staples, Kate pulled out some old favourites, notably her classic brown leather waistcoat by Really Wild Clothing.
The sleeveless Nubuck gilet is a country chic classic, with deep pockets to the side and a fitted silhouette. A favourite of Kate's, it's ideal for engagements that see her get her hands dirty.
She paired this with a light blue linen shirt – this one by Massimo Dutti – in a classically oversized fit and a true staple.
She added another Massimo Dutti piece by wearing her Skinny Fit High-Rise Satin Trousers in a rich chocolate brown shade that matched her gilet perfectly. She kept the autumn theme going by accessorising with a brown woven belt that seemed to have a subtle metallic shimmer to it.
Almost a given at this stage when she heads into the outdoors, Kate wore her beloved See by Chloé Liegi Ankle Boots, a rugged combat-style boot made in suede with leather trim and a chunky sole.
Matching her face mask to her outfit, Kate once again chose a style by kids' brand Amika, this time the subtle blue patterned one. And of course, the necessary striped Scouts scarf. She accessorised with some delicate jewellery, including a double strand gold necklace by Spells of Love.
The Duchess added an Irish design into her look, too, as she wore the Gold Disc Circle Earrings (€49) by All The Falling Stars, a Galway brand known for their minimalist gold and silver handmade pieces.
Kate is clearly a fan of the Irish designs, as last week she wore not one, but two of the brand's pieces: the same Gold Disc Circle Earrings and the Gold Three Layered Disc Necklace (€89).
