Last night, the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards took place - in a socially distanced manner - in order to recognise and celebrate just some of the talent displayed in primetime programming for the 2019-2020 television season.

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel live from the Staples Center, the show had a star-studded list of presenters and surprise guests including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Ty Burrell, LaVerne Cox, America Ferrera, Morgan Freeman, Mindy Kaling, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Issa Rae, RuPaul, Gabrielle Union, Oprah Winfrey, and many more.

As with all events in 2020, the ceremony was forced to adapt to Covid-19 restrictions, with guests staying home and tuning in over Zoom. Nominees dialed in from their homes and adhered to any number of dress codes - from couture gowns to casual bathrobes.

Sadly, there were no Irish wins to celebrate at last night's ceremony but, as always, there was plenty of incredible fashion to admire.
