For the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first public engagement after lockdown, the couple headed to the Technicolor resort Barry Island, where the television show Gavin and Stacey was set. And with such inspiration as that, it's no surprise that Kate Middleton dressed for the occasion.
The couple were in the South Wales resort to see how the local businesses are keeping the usually buzzy destination going in the face of Covid-19, as part of their trip around the country.
Stopping by key locations from the show, such as the arcade and Marco's Cafe, the couple chatted to locals about how they have implemented safety measures. The couple even had a go on the amusements, trying their hands at the claw machine and the coconut shy.
Later, they visited Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff where they caught up with residents they had previously only met over a Zoom call. Early in lockdown, the couple had taken part in a round of virtual bingo, acting as bingo callers for the residents.
For the sunny outing, Kate rewore one of her favourite pieces: a sweet and feminine blue floral dress by Emilia Wickstead.
The Duchess first wore the 'Aurora' dress for the launch of the Back to Nature festival last summer, and we can see why she's still drawn to it. The pale blue dress features a striking pink floral pattern, overlaid on a muted striped pattern.
The texture of the seersucker dress added more detail, with a delicate swiss dot embroidery throughout. The A-line silhouette adds to the feminine look, with a full skirt and a matching belt to cinch in the waist.
Even better are the front pockets, making it practical and gorgeous!
While the Duchess's specific dress is sold out, you can get the same style in different colours on the Emilia Wickstead site, costing £1,420.
The Duchess paired her dress with her trusty Castaner espadrilles: the Carina style in warm beige, with a delicate leather ankle tie. They're a firm favourite of the Duchess's, and cost €135.
She also matcher her pink floral face mask to her dress, choosing the Adult Reusable Cotton Face Mask, costing €16.68 from children's brand Amaia, and finished her look with a blush pink Amberley Small Clutch by Mulberry.
Keen to support local businesses, the Duchess chose a pair of geometric earrings by Spells of Love, founded by Welshwoman Hayley Jones. The Alia set are simple and striking and are made with a focus on sustainability.
