For many couples, date night when you're almost 10 years together and three children in is a night meal at the local pizza spot, a trip to the cinema or even just a glass of wine and a Netflix binge.

But for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, date night is a glitzy public event, so it's no wonder Kate Middleton broke out a glamorous and sophisticated look for the occasion.

Stepping out for a special performance of the hit play Dear Evan Hanson in London's West End, Kate looked effortlessly elegant in a navy midi-length tweed Eponine dress, giving a modern update to a classic 1960s silhouette.

With a high v-neck collar, shimmering metal buttons and a full pleated skirt, the gown was classically sophisticated, while the choice of tweed hinted at Kate's love of country chic looks.

But this was a date night of sorts, after all, so the Duchess was sure to add a touch of glitz to her look. Onlookers and photographers alike were taken with her dazzling ombre silver sparkle Jimmy Choo pumps, which she paired with a matching sparkling clutch bag.

Her makeup was kept simple, with a pop of pink blush on her cheeks and her typical black winged eyeliner. However, her hair looked longer and even more lustrous than usual, worn in cascading blow-dried waves.

The play tells the story of Evan Hanson, a young boy who struggles with anxiety, and shows the reality of living with a condition that affects many around the world. The play has been credited with starting conversations about mental health in families, and was held in aid of the Cambridges' Royal Foundation, which works in the mental health field.
