Burberry had all the models of the moment on the catwalk at London Fashion Week.

Burberry seemed to be saving the best until last with its autumn/winter show, which was held at Olympia National, one of the last big-name shows on the London Fashion Week schedule.

For his fourth collection at the helm of the British heritage brand Riccardo Tisci enlisted French pianist sisters Katia and Marielle Labèque to perform live alongside Alejandra Ghersi – aka musician Arca – who accompanied the pair on the DJ decks.

Models snaked around the musicians as celebrities watched from the front row decked out in Burberry.

They included Naomi Campbell in a transparent vinyl trench coat, models Winnie Harlow and Karen Elson, and Cate Blanchett in a chic black cape-coat and trousers.

On the catwalk, the stellar model line-up included Irina Shayk (a close friend of Tisci), Joan Smalls and Kendall Jenner as well as supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid.

Titled Memories, this was a diverse collection that encompassed everything from puffer jackets to glamorous gowns.

Burberry is famous for its outerwear and this season Tisci continued to explore the archives and deconstruct the house’s signature trench coat.

This time around he produced extra-long and cropped versions. Some came with faux fur trims, others in wet-look leather or tartan.

For men, as well as voluminous puffer coats there were a variety of preppy duffel coats including a baby pink version but, for the most part, colour was kept to a minimum in favour of beiges, brown and blacks.

There was also a big focus on check prints, particularly with Seventies style suits, but only a few flashes of the iconic Nova check.

Tisci loves to play with traditional British style codes and today he was inspired by sports uniforms, sending out a range of tops and dresses created with rugby shirt material, including a burgundy and yellow corseted dress.

For the final flourish, the show ended with a slew of stunning beige and silver sequinned dresses with sparkly fringing. Expect to see them on a red carpet soon.
