With this in mind, one New Zealand designer has created what may be the world's first range of reversible wedding dresses, to give brides more choice in how they want to dress on their big day.
Inspired by conversations she's had with brides over the years, Trish Peng created her "Reflections" collection, featuring 11 dresses that can be worn in two ways.
On one side, the dress is outfitted in a sleek and modern block-coloured material, while on the reverse is a romantic and classic lace pattern.
In an Instagram post, she wrote: "After meeting so many Brides who just couldn't choose between beaded or plain silk, we thought well, why not make it reversible! Seamlessly hidden and easily changeable, you can now have the best of both worlds."
Named after some of the brides she's worked with, the dresses include the full-skirted Rosie gown, the figure-hugging Imogen dress and the sleek Caelyn gown. Brides can select specific shades, from ivory to blush pink, as well as lace patterns.
