Meghan Markle has been turning heads and putting her own spin on royal dressing while on a royal tour of South Africa, and we've loved every minute of it. Not a coat dress in sight, she's dazzled in flowing dresses, sheer midis and unusual prints.
The Duchess of Sussex stepped out this week in not one but two glamorous gúnas, while visiting an artists' community yesterday and the University of Johannesburg this morning. True to form, the former actress and activist proved with each look that you can always bring some glamour to even casual outfits.
On a day trip to Victoria Yards, a collaborative space for artists and producers to work and create, Meghan wore a nautical-inspired button down dress by Aritzia's in-house label, Wilfred in a rich navy colour, costing roughly €135. The row of pale buttons elongated her form beautifully, while the tie belt nipped in her waist.
Although the Duchess is know for her love of neutrals, this time she paired her muted dress with orange-red slingback flats by Everlane, the same style that she has in beige and which cost €144. Perhaps the colour - called "Persimmon" - was a nod to the creative artists she'd be meeting?
The Duchess couldn't hide her love of fashion on her trip, either, as she visited the workshop of denim producer Tshepo, who revealed that she had placed an order for some jeans four weeks ago.
About 4 weeks ago I got a call from the British embassy. The Duchess of Sussex placed an order for a pair of jeans and today she came to collect them personally...

This morning, Meghan set off for another visit, this time to the University of Johannesburg, wearing a more formal look. Returning to a favourite shade, she chose a stunning camel tuxedo dress for the occasion, by Banana Republic.
Featuring a sleek belt at the waist, tortoiseshell buttons and a knee-length hem, the elegant dress costs just €119 and can be easily dressed up or down, which the Duchess will no doubt do.
As usual, Meghan emphasised her natural beauty by paring back on makeup, wearing just eyeliner, mascara and some blush, with her hair in relaxed waves.
