Dressing to impress, no matter your gender, is indeed a fine art, something that the GQ Men of the Year Awards proved this year by holding its annual soirée in the esteemed halls of the Tate Modern in London.

With appearances by Victoria Beckham, Nicole Kidman and Kylie Minogue, not to mention a rake of stylish men of the hour, it was a dazzling fashion event.

David Beckham was man of the night, as he picked up the prestigious Editor's Special Award, commending him for his peerless contribution to men's fashion. As the face of countless campaigns, popular aftershaves and his recent Peaky Blinder-inspired clothing line with Kent & Curwen, Beckham is the go-to style inspiration for many men.

But on the red carpet, it was his wife, fashion designer Victoria, who stole the show, stunning in a white oversized suit from her own 2020 resort collection. Flanked on either side by David and her son Brooklyn, she made a striking entrance.

The relaxed fit blazer (priced at €1,710) and wide-leg trousers (priced at €850), paired with razor-sharp black stilettos, was a modern and glamorous spin on androgynous-chic, and has us already looking forward to party season so we can rock the look in our own way!

Meanwhile, Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman brought a pop of colour to the red carpet. Nicole looked spectacular in an ornate canary-gold floor-length gown featuring a high collar, sheer panels and intricate pale pink embroidery.

The Aussie was honoured for her acting, picking up the gong for Actress of the Year.

She posed up a storm with fellow Australian superstar Kylie Minogue, who attended alongside her partner, GQ creative director Paul Solomons. Sparkling in a one-shouldered Grecian style gown of silvery green silk, and featuring opulent crystal embellishments, the songstress was all smiles.

An expert on how to maximise her 5ft frame, Kylie paired the flowing Ralph and Russo gown with statement high heels in matching silver.

She was honoured on the night with the Icon Award, making an emotional speech referencing her long career and the highs and lows she has faced during it. "Thank you so much. Just the mention of ill health [Tom Jones mentioned it when presenting[ has reminded me that I've become so close with someone from my medical team from all those years ago.

"They taught me what it is to depend on someone. Being an icon takes Determination relentlessness and the ability to work through the tears and the pain. Thank you to the people who were by my side to celebrate things like Glastonbury but also a support in the tough times."

Adding a sultry note to the red carpet was Rita Ora, who arrived in a daring lace two-piece ensemble, featuring a bra and sheer ruffled skirt, while Naomi Campbell looked understated and elegant in a cream longline blazer edged with navy silk and paired with blue wide-leg trousers.
