It was a royal meeting of fierce kings and queen on Sunday night, as some of the world's brightest stars descended on London for the premiere of The Lion King.
The star-studded event saw London's Leicester Square decked out in a golden carpet, a fitting runway for some of the entertainment industry's most powerful figures.
For many, the most notable appearance was that of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who were confirmed to be attending earlier in the week. Although technically still on maternity leave following the birth of the couple's son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, this was Markle's first formal appearance and all eyes were on what she would wear.
True to her understated and elegant style, Markle turned heads in her chic Jason Wu mid-length black gown, which featured a romantic full skirt and a sheer panel across the top of the bodice and sleeves, which retails at roughly €4,100.
Paired with a striking pair of sling back black crystal-embellished Portrait of a Lady pumps by Aquazzura (costing €375), Gucci's Broadway Embellished Satin Clutch (costing €1,890) and Nikos Koulis's Oui Oui Diamond & Black Enamel Octagonal Stud Earrings (costing $12,204), her outfit was classic and sophisticated.
On the other end of the sartorial spectrum, Beyonce Knowles, who voices the character of Nala and curated and produced the album The Lion King: The Gift and featured on the latest version of the original soundtrack, embodied her regal character flawlessly.
Showing how two royal figures - one of the music industry and one of an actual monarchy - can coexist and shine together in different ways, the icon wowed in a full-length custom gold pleated gown by Vietnamese designer Cong Tri featuring a daring thigh-high slit.
With her hair worn long and loose past her waist and with smouldering smoky eye makeup, Beyonce was certainly queen of the gold carpet.
Even more thrilling, however, was the meeting of Markle and Beyonce, which saw them embrace and share anecdotes about their children and parenting while their doting husbands looked on.
Also turning heads on the runway were cast members Seth Rogen with wife Lauren Miller Rogen, Billy Eichner and Pharell Williams.
Elton John and his husband David Furnish looked spectacular in their embellished Gucci suits, while our own Laura Whitmore made an appearance pairing a t-shirt with the cartoon versions of The Lion King characters with a sleek Alexander McQueen suit.
