Meghan Markle is a former lifestyle blogger, actress and bona fide Hollywood star so you could expect her to know better than most the importance of a well-chosen outfit.
Since marrying into the Royal Family last May, Meghan has established herself as the epitome of elegance, yet when her fashion know-how lapses, she turns to an unlikely advisor: Prince Charles.
It's been revealed that the Prince of Wales has been routinely advising the Duchess of Sussex on dressing, specifically during royal engagements - high stakes public outings for the Royal Family when such advice would no doubt be most necessary.

According to the Daily Mail, Prince Charles intervened when Meghan planned to wear a diamond tiara to her first overseas state dinner in Fiji. She had planned to borrow a jewelled piece from the Royal Collection, but Charles stepped in.
The Duchess had hoped to borrow a jewelled tiara from the Royal Collection for the event, but she was advised by her father-in-law that such ostentation is avoided in parts of the Commonwealth where it can be seen as reminiscent of a bygone era or ‘extravagant’.
His reasoning was that such extravagance should be avoided in parts of the Commonwealth, as it can stir memories of a bygone era, which is to say colonial times.
A source said: "Meghan did not understand all of this because she was new to the role and so Prince Charles told her that it would not be appropriate.
"It was very kindly done."
This level of context is something that Meghan - a relative newcomer to the Royal Family - would not be aware of. For instance, the average monthly wage in Fiji is estimated to be just £400, according to the UN, so restraining how much the Royal Family flaunts its wealth is a clear decision.
In contrast, on the same night, Kate Middleton wore an elaborate diamond and pearl headpiece once owned by Princess Diana to a state banquet at Buckingham Palace.

Meghan and Prince Charles have enjoyed a close friendship since her wedding to Prince Harry last year. A notable decision came when Meghan asked Prince Charles to walk her partly down the aisle at the ceremony in her father's place, who was unable to attend due to ill health.
The moment was as touching for the Prince of Wales as it was for the watching public, as it's been reported the Prince keeps a framed photo of the moment on his desk.
He also calls Meghan "Tungsten", after the rare metal that is as strong and unyielding as his daughter-in-law. Cute?
