Sustainable Fashion Dublin was created by Taz Kelleher and Geraldine Carton; two freelancing professionals who wanted to promote the negative effects of the fast fashion industry and encourage the masses to consider some alternative, more eco-friendly, options in the way we purchase, wear and ultimately dispose of clothes.
They also wanted to find fun ways to meet like-minded people, something they were both finding increasingly difficult as the years went on. And so from November 2018, the duo started organising a range of fun and accessible events that do all of the above, from charity shop crawls that explore Dublin's vibrant second-hand clothing scene, to swap shops and upcycling workshops – if it's fun and social, then these girls are doing it!
It's also worth mentioning that Taz and Geraldine are also insistent on steering clear of any guilt-tripping or preaching; this is all about introducing people to the possibility of enjoying a continually revamped wardrobe for half the price and a fraction of the environmental impact, without an inkling of judgment.
