The days are getting a little milder and slowly but surely we're packing away our winter coats, but if there's one accessory we know to be a year-round constant, it's tights.
Whether layered under midi skirts, peeking out from flowing dresses or even slipped under cut-out jeans, tights are the unsung heroes of fashion and endlessly versatile.
They're the darlings of high fashion, too, as each Fall/Winter season brings new interpretations of the staple from the classic to the clashing.

Take Alexa Chung's use of black tights and black polo necks in her interpretation of "crisis dressing" at her London Fashion Week catwalk show last year. Compare that to Christopher John Rogers' bold pairing of black and white checkered tights with a voluminous electric blue mini dress.
Proving that tights don't have to be banished to the work wardrobe, our own fashionista Vogue Williams put them front and centre while in the front row at Paul Costelloe's London Fashion Week catwalk this week.

Radiant in a shimmering gold tuxedo-inspired mini dress by the designer - who designed Vogue's wedding dress and is a firm favourite of the star's - the presenter donned a pair of sheer black polka dot tights by the Italian brand Calzedonia.
Paired with black stilettos and minimal jewellery, Vogue was the picture of refined elegance with a twist.

Just days later, she was out again in the decidedly chillier climes of Dublin, wearing the same polka dot tights but matched with a cosier outfit.
On a visit to the city to mark the announcement of Tipperary-based cider company Bulmers as the Official sponsor for The Cheltenham Gold Cup, Vogue wrapped up in a cropped cream jumper and form-fitting leather mini skirt with zip detailing.
Finishing her look with black leather heeled ankle boots and tousled locks, she gave a masterclass in chic and effortless dressing for the chillier months.
