The Oscar Wilde Awards better known as the 'Irish Oscars' is an annual event that aims to honour the Irish-American relationship within the entertainment industry.
The awards are the brainchild of Trina Vargo and are part of a range of initiatives of the US Ireland-Alliance, that include the prestigious George J Mitchell Scholarship.
Hosted annually by Hollywood legend J.J. Abrams in his Bad Robot production offices, last night's pre-Oscar event saw American stars Melissa McCarthy and Glenn Close walking the green carpet alongside Irish actress Sarah Bolger who stole the show in a gorgeous Don O'Neill gúna.
Glenn Close, J.J. Abrams, and our very own Chris O'Dowd were among those being honored at this year's event. RTÉ 2fm's Stephen Byrne was on the scene to catch up with Chris ahead of the ceremony, check it out below:
