As a busy Duchess flitting from one social engagement to another, it's easy to forget that Kate Middleton is also a mother of three young children - Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and eight-month-old Prince Louis.

No doubt, her version of parenting - complete with a live-in-nanny Maria Borrallo and housekeepers, not to mention the best of schools - is far removed from that of most mothers but, nonetheless, she shoulders many of the same burdens normal parents do.

Visiting the London charity Family Action to meet with volunteers for FamilyLine, their new helpline that provides support to parents and carers struggling at home, Kate shared how isolated and overwhelmed she's felt in the past following her pregnancies.

"It's so hard. You get a lot of support with the baby as a mother particularly in the early days but after the age of one it falls away", she said.

"After that there isn't a huge amount - lots of books to read", she added, noting that "Everybody experiences the same struggle".

Sitting in on a training session where two volunteers role-played as a mother struggling at home with a six-week-old baby, Kate impressed with her empathy and understanding. Sagari Sarkar, who played the mother, said "I think it makes her human. It makes her in touch. She is a parent, a very active parent, and I think that's what people like about her".

As well as this, Kate managed to make her clothes talk, too, choosing to wear a label that strongly advocates for women's rights.

Wowing in a bespoke version of the Yahvi Tailored Midi Dress by luxury London brand Beulah, which retails for €687.50, Kate reasserted herself as a royal with a keen social and political conscience.

Beulah, founded in 2010, is run by family friend Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs - the daughter of the Marquess of Reading and wife of Rupert Finch, a former boyfriend of Kate - and Lavinia Brennan.

Inspired by months working in the slums of Delhi, the label aims to empower women affected by human trafficking and poverty through skilled techniques and sustainable employment.
