This morning it was announced that the Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has become the patron of four charities, including Smart Works, an organisation that provides free interview clothing and coaching for unemployed and vulnerable women.
Shortly after, the 37-year-old visited the charity’s London HQ, stepping out in an outfit that got a lot of attention – mainly because of her shoes.

Meghan, who is due to give birth to her first child in the spring, wore a black midi dress by American maternity brand Hatch teamed with a camel Oscar de la Renta swing coat and a vanity box tote by Victoria Beckham.
She completed the comparatively simple ensemble with a pair of striking black and white cow print high heels, with see-through PVC inserts.

Eagle-eyed royal watchers believe they are the £535 ‘Plexi’ style by Gianvito Rossi, originally from a 2014 collection.
The style is still available to buy on Net-a-Porter but not in Meghan’s cow print finish. The closest you can get is a leopard print pair, currently on off for €390 (was €650).

On social media, fans thoroughly approved of the mum-to-be’s footwear choice.
"I missed the shoes the 1st time. Maternity Meghan is feeling fierce today," wrote Twitter user Royal Suitor.
"Good for Meghan for still rocking some (older) heels while heavily pregnant. Always classy, always graceful," commented Addie10265601.

Not everyone approved, though.
"Goodness #meghan buy shoes that fit! And they cost £530 apparently. I can’t stand toe cleavage at the best of times….." wrote Smk1951 on Twitter.
Her shoes are probably Gianvito Rossi, and I can't afford them. Meghan keeps telling me I'm broke every time she steps out. pic.twitter.com/8TeVUXDvRB

One thing’s for certain, though, the Duchess is totally on-trend, as perspex shoes have been a big hit with celebs and fashion bloggers recently.
