Top hairstyling tips on going from 'desk to disco'

Once we get the drama and theatricality of Halloween out of our systems, we're fully into the Christmas party season. While details like sequins, red lipstick and glossy waves are old reliables, each year new trends will emerge, often so subtle you won't catch them before you're munching on your first mince pie.

If you don't have time to thumb through the latest issue of Vogue, don't fret: we scoped out the sleekest trends for the holiday season at the Arnotts Autumn/Winter 2018 fashion show. There, model Thalia Heffernan and Zeba hairdresser Stephen Kelly gave us a run down of the best way to style your hair this winter.

Stephen explains that disco is the prevailing trend, the glam and sophisticated version rather than the hippie tie-dye one. He says, "We're into the Christmas party season now and desk to disco is the way forward." In the video above he outlines two rapid fire hairstyles that even the hair-hopeless among us could master.

Given how much time she spends in hairdressing chairs, Thalia has expert tips on how to repair dry and damaged hair. She also shares with us her go-to evening time hair look, and adds that with them she tosses a hairbrush in her bag and "hopes for the best".

She also shares her miracle hair product, created by Audrey Hepburn's former hair stylist, that saved her locks when they started falling out.

Watch the video above to hear all of Thalia and Stephen's expert hair tips!
