With over fifty national and international titles under her belt, Loraine is one of the most successful ballroom dancers to ever come from Ireland. However, she says that dancing is not her only passion.

"I have my gowns made in Italy. I love designing dresses and I lived in Italy for a short time and I met a wonderful designer from the Max Mara house and she became my friend and she makes my dresses for me."

Loraine has been dressed to perfection each week but she told RTÉ LifeStyle that some dresses have stood out to her more than others.

"We had 'Movie Week' and I really wanted to have one with feathers on it so I put all the feathers on the top in white and I made the skirt in black. I really, really enjoyed that."

In the late 80’s, Loraine won three British Open, two World, three International, two European and two United States Championships together with many national titles including the All-Ireland Championship.

Clearly, this is a lady that knows her stuff. We asked her which star she thought made the biggest impression when it came to throwing themselves into getting fit and learning their steps.

"You have to look at the likes of Des Cahill, you know, he's completely changed his own body's structure, he has become fitter."
