The 2017 Irish Film and Television Academy Awards nominees have been announced! Unsurprisingly, Ruth Negga, Jamie Dornan, Amy Huberman and Michael Fassbender have all made the list, but a lesser known Irish gem has also made the cut. Say hello to Dominique McElligott.

After landing a role in the RTÉ series Raw, McElligott's career took off and led her to a number of roles in movies such as Moon, Leap Year and western TV series Hell On Wheels.

Last year, the actress bagged the role of Hannah Conway in the amazing Netflix series House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey. Her performance has earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in Drama at this year's Irish Film and Television Academy Awards.
