Every Friday on RTÉ LifeStyle we like to treat our readers to a fashion find whether it be a designer, a product or a blogger! This week we're chatting to fashion blogger Sinéad de Burtléir.

1. Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Sinéad de Butléir - and my blog is nicknamed 'Sinéad De Blogger!' I work as a full-time nurse in Dublin and last year after a short illness I learnt a valuable life lesson: life is precious and you only have one opportunity to do what you love. So I decided to take the plunge and Sinéad De Blogger was born!

2. Why do you do what you do?
While nursing full time is hectic in itself and is not the most 'glamorous' of jobs, my blog allows me to show a glam side. It appeals to people who work crazy hours, shift work and long days. Not only do I write fashion and beauty blogs I also have wrote blogs on coping with night duty and working odd hours. I started a fashion blog simply because I LOVE creating looks, I love styling and playing around with clothes. When it’s something you are passionate about it will come across.

3. Describe your audience!
My audience varies from young nurses who contact me regarding work to people who work odd hours such as prison guards to mums and women in their late 20’s and early 30’s seeking advice on what to wear for special occasions. As part of my blog, I do a #fashionunder50 segment. If you pop this hashtag into Instagram you will see some of the looks I’ve created for under €50. This has proved to be very popular and appeals to everyone!

4. What’s your media diet?

My first go to feed is Instagram - it is my favourite simply because it is so visual. It's also a great way of getting new ideas and searching new looks. Next is Snapchat because it gives people an opportunity to get to know me on a more personal level. Twitter is also a great platform for linking in with people because you can communicate with people that you may only know from social media. Lastly, I go to Facebook. Honestly, Facebook is my least favourite when it comes to my blog - I find it really limits what your audience get to see hence people who follow me don’t always get to see my posts.

5. Three people you respect?
Tara O’ Farrell -
simply because I have met this lady in person and she is as lovely off camera as she is on. She was so grounded and easy to talk to which is amazing considering what a huge following she has.

Jennifer Wrynne - I love and admire how Jennifer has taken a hobby and created her own brand to the point that she is now a boutique owner and yet she remains so down to earth!

Pippa O’ Connor - what’s not to respect about this lady? All she has achieved since her website began is really incredible. She's a writer, the creator of POCO and the Pippa Palette, a mum to two gorgeous children and she's still so relatable to so many Irish women

6. What excites you right now and why?
The fact that I am even writing this piece excites me. I have had the most amazing year and yet have learned so much about the blogging world. Continuing to strive and plan ahead excites me!

7. Proudest post? Finest moment to date? Most embarrassing moment to date?

There have been a couple of highlights in Sinead de Blogger’s first year:

  1. Being a finalist on TV 3’s Xposé blogging competition.
  2. Being asked by Littlewoods Ireland to feature some of their looks on my blog.
  3. Having over 1,000 people read a blog post on 'surviving night duty'.
  4. Doing a 'fashion under €50' segment at a workshop with over 160 attendees
  5. Becoming 'Blush' Make Up’s Brand Ambassador
  6. Being featured on RTÉ’s 'Farmer in Charge' programme to review a revamped hair salon in Tallaght!

8.  Tell us a secret - something we should know about you?
I have a bucket list, some of the items are very random but I’m proud to say I have already ticked a few off. They include being a part of The Late Late Show audience and being the 2011 Kilkenny Rose!

9. What’s the master plan/dream?
My ultimate goal would be to work along the lines of fashion and dressing people! I also hope to run my own masterclass some day. I firmly believe in the power of positive thinking - If you visualise yourself doing something then it will happen!

10. Where do we find you?
You can find me on the following platforms: Snapchat @Sindebutleir, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
