"It all began on New Years day, in my 32nd year of being single. Once again I found myself on my own and going to my mother's annual turkey curry buffet. Every year she tries to fix me up with some bushy-haired, middle-aged bore, and I feared this year would be no exception." - Bridget Jones's Diary, 2001
For a short period of time, Bridget Jones's Baby filmed in Dublin and was directed once again by Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones’s Diary, 2001). The film deals with Bridget’s pregnancy and, of course, her relationship dramas and embarressing moments.
Many of us can see something of ourselves in this plump(-ish, they always over-egg that one), clumsy girl and from day one we can foresee her misadventures. This time around, Bridget has a brand new lover played by Patrick Dempsey...but don't worry, we won't spoil it for you, you'll have to wait to see the film!
Renée Zellweger, as we all know, is definitely more stylish and fashion conscious than her character Bridget Jones... but at this point it’s almost impossible for us to separate the actress from her role! Looking back at her red carpet looks has been an adventure.
Let’s start with her most recent premieres in London and New York City!
Resolution number one: Obviously will lose twenty pounds. Number two: Equally important, will find nice, sensible boyfriend to go out with." - Bridget Jones's Diary, 2001
Of course, Renée does not need to shed twenty pounds, the actress looked radiant at the New York premiere!
And now it's time for that throwback we promised...ready?
We hardly recognise Renée with her dark lock in 2004! However that may be because our attention is being drawn to her leading men...
I truly believe that happiness is possible... even when you're thirty-three and have a bottom the size of two bowling balls. - Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, 2004
In 2001 Renée was blonde and fabulous in this revealing number, grabbing the attention back from Hugh and Colin. Her red pout is a show stopper.
Oh God, I'm very worried. What if someone says, "Bridget Jones get out of here, you are ridiculous"? - Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, 2004
Impossible, Bridget! We have already cried, laughed, sang and fallen in love with you...and we can't wait to see what is going to happen in this new adventure! The film will be released in Ireland on the 16th of September.
