Martha Lynn Millinery joined forces with a host of amazing Irish talent including Emma Manley, Edge Only, Lisa Ryder, Jill & Gill & Fiona Mulholland to pull together a special pop up store for just 10 days in Dublin's Fumbally Exchange running until Sunday August 13. RTÉ LifeStyle spoke to the designer about the shop, style tips and her favourite pieces of A/W '16.
How and Why did you get involved with this pop up shop idea?
I'm good friends with Emma, who has brought us all together and is the driving force behind the Pop Up.
I am also friendly with Jenny Huston of Edge Only and Lisa Ryder who I have just done a collaborative scarf project with!
Whats your favourite piece from your line at the moment?
The collaborative Scarf Lisa and I worked on together is definitely the most exciting piece. Its something exciting and different for both of us.
I approached the project with a headscarf in mind, while Lisa has more experience with neck scarves. So its accessible and versatile.
Describe your style
My style is simple, clean line structures and bold bright colours.
Wardrobe planning for A/W '16: What is going to be the biggest trend?
CHECK! I love check and lots of it. I am seeing lots of it this AW from Victoria Beckham, Missoni, Toyshop Unique and Derek Lam.
It's everywhere and I am delighted. I feel a new check winter coat coming on!!!
Where are your go to places for fashion news/updates?
I'm a big instagram fan. I use it all the time especially to keep up to date with fashion news and trends. I also find it a great source of inspiration because its such a visual app.
