News that Gaga was to walk in the show broke shortly before the event took place and all eyes were on the singer as she paraded the runway right behind model of the moment Kendall Jenner.
The show may have been Gaga's NYFW debut but it wasn't the first time she's walked in a show, having taken to the runway in Paris for Thierry Mugler's AW'11.
Gaga told Vogue that she agreed to model for Jacobs shortly before she performed a tribute to David Bowie at Monday night's Grammys.
"I was getting ready to do the Grammys, and I told him that I would do it. It's really wonderful that he brought me in as one of his models... I told Marc I was disappointed the shoes weren't taller," she said.
Gaga added that was there to support her close friend Jacobs, "My whole goal is to be here for Marc, making his vision come to life. It's not about me, it's about the clothes."
And speaking of the clothes, Gaga wore an oversized grey coat with exaggerated lapels and buttons and fur detailing on the sleeves, a mint green silk blouse with a large bow neckline, matching mint leather satchel and possibly the world's highest snake print platform boots.
The last we saw Gaga, she was sporting fiery orange hair as part of her Bowie tribute, but for the NYFW show her look was ultra platinum. The style was old Hollywood waves on top, with the ends left straight and sleek.
No stranger to dramatic make-up, Gaga was at home with bleached brows, dramatic eye-liner and a kohl-black lip.
The show was gothic-tinged with voluminous silhouettes and luxe fabrics galore. If this show is anything to go by, it's going to be a winter full of fur, feathers and a whole lot of black.
