Most of us have some form of cellulite and although I wish it didn't bother me, it definitely does and I have turned to many creams to try and combat the issue in the past.
When I heard of the Icoone treatment, which is available exclusively in Renew Clinic on Dublin's Hatch Street, I was excited to try it out. I decided to concentrate the treatment, which can be used to target cellulite on the body or also to encourage collagen in the face, on my thighs and hips.
Before you start the 30-minute treatment you put on a stretchy bodysuit, which is kind of like a giant pair of tights, which helps the Icoone hand-held device to pass smoothly on your skin without pinching.
During the 30-minute treatment, a nurse rolls the Icoone hand-rolling device over your skin, which sucks it in, encouraging stimulation of the skin to break up cellulite and encourage the production of collagen.
There are different levels to the power of the suction, the most powerful the suction the more effective it is, and while it's most definitely not the most relaxing treatment I've ever experienced, the sensation is definitely manageable, and it becomes less noticeable the further into the treatments you go.
A minimum of five sessions are recommended to see results, and I found the skin around my thighs was looking smoother and more taut, with my cellulite greatly reduced after a month of weekly treatments.
It's also essential to drink plenty of water after each Icoone treatment to encourage the toxins to flush out of your body, and combine the treatments with a healthy diet and exercise.
