I've got fine hair that lacks volume at the roots, so I was dying to get my hands on a bottle of this stuff, and I've found it transforms my lacklustre hair with ease.
I apply to just washed, damp hair, spritzing it from roots to ends and combing through to ensure an even distribution. I then tip my head upside down and rough dry my hair, concentrating the flow of the hot air on my roots to get extra volume.
When I've dried my roots, I flip my hair back to finish off the blowdry, usually leaving my hair with still some dampness so it dries with a bit of a natural wave.
The result is hair with tonnes of volume, that doesn't feel sticky or weighed down by product. If you want a more groomed look, you could blow-dry hair with a round brush, but I haven't mastered that particular skill!
The Aveda Thickening Tonic is €23 for 100ml.
