The Harpers Salon in Glasthule, Dublin has recently expanded and added a second floor, along with some lovely new treatments.
As well as the usual hair services, the salon now offers a wide range of beauty treatments, including make-up application, manicures and pedicures, false lashes and eyebrow shaping and tinting, so you can get completely beautified under one roof!
I tried out their Shellac manicure, which at €25 is very well priced. The beauty therapist convinced me to try a more daring colour than the classic red I had in mind - a deep burgundy with very fine, subtle glitter. She filed my nails in a short, square shape and went to work carefully applying thin layers of the Shellac polish and curing each layer under the LED lamp.
The result was the best Shellac manicure I've ever tried - the finish was perfect, thin and even, and the manicure lasted a full three weeks with only minor chipping.
