Hello all! It's Ciara O'Doherty here, stylist and blogger at ciaraodoherty.com. Welcome to my "Fashion Film" series, a fun new project that I have been working on with wonderful videographer Azzy O'Connor. The temperature here in Ireland really has taken a dip lately, which can make putting outfits together a bit of a nightmare. So Azzy and I wanted to bring you a series of AW looks to help give you some winter dressing inspiration, and we are delighted to have them premiered right here on RTE fashion! So, lets kick things off with our first look in the series: The Statement Monochrome.
This first look in the series is definitely a cosy one, and with the weather being as chilly as it is right now, you really have to get clever with your layering. You may have spotted this Giovanna Borza Mongolian and leather fringe scarf on my instagram or facebook recently, I am utterly infatuated with it! Without a doubt, it is the cosiest thing in my wardrobe right now, plus it's great for dressing up even the most casual look into something a bit more glamorous!
Giovanna is an emerging Irish/Italian designer who debuted her first collection in Spring/Summer of this year, and she's already making waves with her exciting designs. I imagine we can expect big things from this talented lady in 2015, and I'm so delighted to have a piece of my own to keep me snuggly in the cold months ahead.
I kept the rest of my look very simple, to let this gorgeous scarf really be the statement piece. These are the ASOS ankle boots I have been living in all Winter! They are the perfect mix of comfortable and stylish that I just can't help but reach for them in the mornings. These biker effect wax trousers from iClothing are another wardrobe staple on high-rotation. Again, I just help it that they go with everything!
