The french design house, founded by its eponymous designer and then-partner Pierre Bergé in 1962 celebrates its 40th birthday this year, with a whole host of changes.
The label will soon be known as 'Saint Laurent Paris', as opposed to the current 'Yves Saint Laurent', however the 'YSL' logo, which was designed in 1963 by Adolphe Mouron Cassandre, will remain as the label's trademark.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Stefano Pilati was leaving his role as creative director before Hedi Slimane accepted the position.
In 1999, American designer Tom Ford brought his US aesthetic and sexy designs to the French fashion house, before handing over the reigns to Pilati in 2004.
No distinct reason has been given for the name change, but rumours suggest Slimane wanted a complete overhaul of the brand to freshen up its look and international appeal going forward.
