Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation

Double Wear is a very full coverage foundation, it does what I want a foundation to do and I could go as far as to say that it is my perfect foundation.

With the mountains of foundations available on the market - all at different price-points and claiming different qualities – there really is a foundation for everyone. I have always thought that when you find a foundation you love, why bother changing it. I am a creature of habit after all.

However, after trying this Revlon PhotoReady Foundation I can honestly say that change can be good.

The first day I tried Revlon PhotoReady (in the shade natural beige), I will admit it was a challenge to reach for the bottle. After forcing myself to put my bottle of Double Wear away, I continued to squirt a liberal amount of the Revlon product on the back of my hand. This was a big mistake. I could have covered half of the female population of Dublin’s faces quite easily. A little bit of this foundation, to my surprise, goes a long way.

This foundation blends into the skin easily, either with your hands or a brush. I would say that this is a medium coverage foundation, but despite its reasonably good coverage, it is very light-weight and you can’t really feel it on your skin - a plus if you want good coverage but hate the feel of heavier make-up. I can honestly say that at first I thought this foundation wouldn’t be enough, but I have come to realise that I don’t need such a heavy foundation as Double Wear. I know for sure that in these warmer months this lighter foundation will be a lot nicer on my skin.

The formula of this foundation is lovely; it really does leave the skin with flawless, dewy and non cakey coverage. It also has SPF 20 in it, which is always a good thing. It is very smooth and the texture of it means that it slides on to the skin and blends in well. It is oil and fragrance free – another plus in my eyes.

The bottle for this foundation is also very handy as it comes with a pump – this is exactly what my Double Wear lacks. I think pumps are a necessity for a foundation, many times I’ve poured out too much foundation onto the back of my hand, only to have to put some back in the bottle (EW! - not exactly the most hygienic thing to do, but when you’re paying for a higher end foundation, you really can’t throw it away).

This foundation has been designed with photography in mind and has been tested under the harshest light and HD cameras with the aim of providing flawless skin. The formula contains photochromatic pigments, these basically reflect and diffuse light to try and erase every flaw. What I will say is, photochromatic pigments aside that this is a good foundation and it does what it claims to do.

This foundation is available now from Boots and other pharmacies in four shades and it retails at €19.40, an extremely affordable price for a foundation of this coverage and quality. I would definitely buy this product again, and I can truly say that the change of foundation, particularly the coverage, has made me feel a lot fresher.

This Revlon foundation was in for a grilling, and I certainly put it through one. My verdict – it’s definitely worth trying, especially if you haven’t found “your” foundation yet.

Make a change, give this foundation a try.
