At the 65th Cannes Film Festival, while we are only a few days underway, there has been a whole host of top-class, international talent. Between directors, actors and producers there have been famous faces at premieres and photocalls all week.
Not only is there trends among the style, evening suits at night and open shirts and blazers in the daytime seem to be the status quo, but the mens hairstyles have also been quite noticeable, with many men opting for a slicked-back, Brylcreem-laden hairstyle.
One of the most notable faces at Cannes has been Ewan McGregor. An impressive head of hair has always been a great attribute to the Scottish actor. At Cannes, he has opted for a relaxed, windswept look, both on and off the red carpet, with a cut that is tight on the sides and top-heavy.
Sporting a similar hairstyle was Jason Schwartzman, who briefly made an appearance at the festival over the weekend. Last year he sheared his shaggy bob of hair for a more manageable, clean cut and he looked sensational at the premiere of Moonrise Kingdom. Schwartzman keeps it neat all around, with a gradual incline on the sides.
French-Canadian director Xavier Dolan went a step further with a severe cut on the sides and slicked-back, overgrown top.
A-list actors Shia LaBoeuf and Tom Hardy were in Cannes to promote their new film, Lawless, alongside beauty Jessica Chastain. Both sported a slicked-back style both on the red carpet and during their photocall. Both have kept it casual with open shirts and casual blazers
Shia changed it up for the evening, opting for an ultra-fitted, slim silhouette two-piece tuxedo but keeping the ultra slick hair.
Another actor who went for something a bit unique and a slimmer cut of suit was Gael Garcia Bernal. The Mexican actor, who we only see rarely these days on the red carpet, kept it all black in a two-piece suit with skinny tie, though the occasion calls for bow tie, and threw in a patterned belt into the mix.
Looking dapper in Cannes as well was Guy Pearce, who wore a single-buttoned tuxedo with wide lapel detail.
Showing how to do casual formal to a tee, Edward Norton kept his look relaxed with a slate blazer, open white shirt, jeans and boots during his photocall in the French Riviera.
Irish funnyman Chris O'Dowd kept it lighthearted at Cannes with his choice of styling. Always one to do something a bit different, O'Dowd wore a bright Hawaiian shirt under a relaxed suit, paired with green suede brogues. For the evening, O'Dowd kept it formal in appropriate tuxedo attire, but let his socks do the talking.
