The Fashion East founder recently received an MBE for services to the Fashion Industry in The Queen's New Year's Honours list. Love, a bi-annual high fashion magazine, is run by former Pop and The Face editor Katie Grand.
Grand spoke to WWD about the appointment, stating "Over the many fun years and nights out that I've known Lulu, I've always been hugely impressed with her ability to discover the brightest new talents, and by her commitment to nurturing young designers as they navigate their way into the fashion industry".
Fashion East, Kennedy's Fashion Week initiative to support emergining British talent, will continue to be overseen by Kennedy, as well we her label Lulu & Co. Kennedy has been credited with championing the success of British designers such as Roksanda Illincic, Gareth Pugh, Henry Holland and Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders.
Kennedy tweeted this morning "Massively delighted to be joining @thelovemagazine as editor at large. OMG!!"

In a statement, she said "Katie is an unstoppable creative force with exceptional taste: witnessing her sensational journey through the industry over the years has been an inspiration to me".
"Her publications are invariably groundbreaking and beautiful; with a cheeky, high-energy, bold point of view that I really admire and am drawn to. As soon as you saw the first issue of Love with Beth Ditto naked on the cover you knew it was era-defining magazine" Kennedy said, adding she is "honoured and totally thrilled" to join Love.
Katie Grand, who reigns as editor-in-chief, also recruited Alexander Fury as editor of the magazine last week.
