The upcoming film is based on the cult classic soap opera, of the same title, which ran during the late Sixties. The film tells the story of Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), an 18th century vampire who is freed from his tomb in 1972 and returns to his former family mansion, only to discover it has gone to wreck and ruin, while he must adjust to his dysfunctional descendants.

The Warner Brothers picture will reuinte Depp with his co-star from another gothic movie, 'Sweeney Todd', Helena Bonham-Carter. Jonnie Lee Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jackie Earle Haley and Eva Green also star in the film.

Newcomer Chloe Grace Moretz ('Kick Ass', 'Hugo') will star as the rebellious teenage daughter, while two Australian actors, Bella Heathcote ('Neighbours') and Gulliver McGrath complete the line-up.
