Light and bright is the way forward and with Penneys’ latest season, that’s what is being reflected.
As nautical is such a huge trend over the past years, this season it’s being taken a step forward, with highlights of orange, yellow and green. Traditional naval and stripe themes are given a modern-day twist with distressed jeans and laced-up work boots, quite a utility edge to the look.
With street wear the theme is ‘Urban Warrior’, which is a mix of slouched, city, casual sportswear with desert, traveller, army tones and colours. Military and safari, two huge men’s trends, marry and mix with classic shapes. Washed-out fabrics are highlighted with bold green and purple, but pitted against safari camel and khaki tones.
On the runways there has been a huge resurgence of 50’s Americana and that’s reflected in a laid-back and retro theme for Penneys’ menswear. Sun-bleached chinos in retro colours and paired with printed graphic tee’s for a laid-back, fashionable summer aesthetic.
