If you haven't seen one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year, avert your eyes because we have the lowdown on one of the most iconic pieces of design from cinema in 2011.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part One has only been released mere days and has already dominated at the box office. Even if you are not a fan of the franchise, there is one thing you must appreciate from the latest Twilight film, the wedding gown, worn by Kristin Stewart and designed by Carolina Herrera.

The film's leading lady marries Edward Cullen in a dress that is dear to Herrera's heart. "It's the most important day in the life of a woman" Herrera says and her only goal was that her gown "had to please the bride".

"The lace detail was designed especially for that dress. The inspiration was from the Twenties but it also had to be for now. The dress uses simple lines with one extravagant detail at the back".

The designer made the gown from crepe satin, the very same fabric she created for her own daughter's wedding. "It's seductive but also goes very well with her (Bella's) style. It had to be very precise and it had to go with the story of the film".

Speaking of Bella, Herrera said "she's an innocent girl that is finding her first true love, so there is romance, there is magic, there is everything together", and she wanted to reproduce this magic in her design.

Fans could soon get their hands on their very own 'Bella' gown. Herrera's CHNY store have plans to reproduce their design for willing customers, though nothing has been set in stone, while American bridal retailer Alfred Angelo has already begun selling replica designs for no less than $799.
