The 11-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith is reported to be in talks to star in a remake of the musical for the big screen.
The 'Whip My Hair' singer is also set to join the Black Eyed Peas among the list of performers at the forthcoming Kids' Choice Awards.
Smith, who made her acting debut alongside her father in 'I Am Legend', said: "I'm so excited to be performing at the Kids' Choice Awards. Really hoping I don't get slimed!"
Jaden, another of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's children will also be at the event on 2 April which will once again be hosted by Jack Black.
Britney Spears, whose latest album 'Femme Fatale' will be released in the US on Tuesday, is not officially slated to perform, but the popstar is expected to make an appearance during the show.
Celebrities who have signed on as presenters include 'Glee' star Cory Monteith, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Russell Brand, Josh Duhamel and Sofia Vergara.
