As the weather starts to turn cold keeping your little ones warm and stylish without breaking the bank can be tricky, that’s we fell in love with Penneys kids collection which offers a look to cater to every childhood whim without the hefty price tag.

For the little ladies pretty, embellished pieces bearing sequins, beads, ribbons and touches of lace are key. The colour palette is rich in pinks, reds, plums and purples, as long as it’s girly, anything goes.

The girls coats are modern and romantic teamed with pretty flared smock tops, covered buttons, rose and pink shades, pintuck pleat detailing in madras check tops and dresses.

Layering is still important set against a miss-match of fabrics and patterns, with contrast and creativity being key.

For the little men, the collection is comprised of simple no fuss garments - striped sweaters and button down cotton shirts in classic colours of navy, pale blue and beige, clearly following the distinctive aesthetic running through the Menswear collection.

There is also an edgy and urban look for boys; prints include skulls, animal motifs and cheeky graphics, for a tough boyish image. Colours such as red and yellow inject vibrancy and newness into a basic palette of white, grey and navy.

The military theme is refreshed this season with traditional khakis teaming up with vibrant pinks and orange to create a new look.

Camouflage is updated and personalised by the addition of garment dyed stitching and bright military satin trims. Oranges, reds and yellows are key colours, with bright chunky knits and cute tees and miniskirts completing the look.
