Jessica Simpson has said that although she cringes when she looks back at some of her fashion faux pas, she says her mistakes have helped her design the best clothing for her eponymous clothing line.
Simpson told People magazine: "There are a lot of things I've worn and look back on and think, 'Oh, my'. When it comes to beauty, I think a big misconception is the tanner you are, the more beautiful you are. It's not always true. I look back on a lot of pictures where I'm really tan, and I'm like, 'Whoa!'
"I'm in all those meetings. I know the zipper pulls, I know what you're going to be purchasing next spring. I know what's going to be trending. It's really fun to take all those meetings and try and play great guessing games of what the public's going to buy."
The actress and singer has also created an affordable beauty line with skincare expert Nerida Joy, which is sold on the internet.
She spoke about why she hates spending too much money pon products, saying: "We go to department stores and we have no idea what these people are telling us. We just know to get the 'it' product because it's working on this A-list celebrity. It's kind of like you're spending too much money on something you don't really know."
