Iconic footwear brand Dr. Martens has launched a bespoke service in London, with plans to expand worldwide and online.
The service promises a pair of 'docs' which are tailored to your every wish and specification. In the basement of the market, a trained assistant will guide customers through their limitless choice of leather, stitch and lacing, though the shoe template itself is a choice between the 1460 8-eye boot and the 1461 3-eye shoe.
The specifications are then sent to a manufacturing plant in Northern England, until they arrive, personalised in their hardwood box, three to four weeks later on your doorstep.

The travelling service will kick off in London, moving on to Beijing, Tokyo and Paris before finishing in the US. If you can't make it to the pop-up bespoke service in London, never fear as the online service will launch in April 2012.
'Doc Martens' have long been a cult item, favoured by various cultural movements, including punks and skinheads. The brand recently seen a surge in popularity and have been widely-available (with a number of copycat styles) all over the high street for the past two years. Agyness Deyn is currently the face of the Martens campaign.
