Brooklyn-based, British presenter Alexa Chung will front a new fashion reality show to air on American television.

The show, entitled 24 Hour Catwalk, will follow ten designers competing for a $10,000 prize fund. Designer Cynthia Rowley, journalist Derek Blasberg and publicist James LaForce make up the panel of judges for the 10-episode show.

With 27-year-old Alexa as host, the show will follow four designers over 24 hours competing in challenges. The contestants will eventually be wittled down to two, in what the internet is calling a younger, trendier version of Project Runway.

Speaking about the project, Chung said "I only wanted to do this if it was going to be a genuine search for designers and if I would be working alongside people who are legitimate in the fashion industry".

Chung had short-lived fame on US television with her show 'It's On With Alexa Chung', which was cancelled after two seasons and just under a year on screens, she is quoted as saying she "got burnt" hosting it. But this time around she praised her team and says that it "just feels right this time".

Alongside modelling and freelance journalist work, Chung has been heavily involved in British television, working on shows like Popworld, Frock Me, Gok's Fashion Fix, Vanity Lair and Freshly Squeezed.
