Smashbox’s newly launched Photo Op Eye Enhancing Palettes and Eye Shadow Trios have impressed greatly with both the choice of shades and performance of the shadows.
The trios (€29) come in no less than sixteen variations, each combining three complementary shades of shadows. I got a few to try, and the one I’ve found indispensable has been Covershoot – a trio of subtly sparkling cream, taupe and brown shades. These are perfect for creating a gorgeous daytime look, or you can smoke it out for evening with the addition of some black kohl.

Each trio has a coordinating base shade, contour colour and highlighter – with application tips provided on the back of the label. So it’s pretty foolproof for shadow novices!

Also finding favour are the Eye Enhancing Palettes (€39) which come in three variations for blue, hazel and brown eyes. Technically my eyes are green/hazel in colour but I love the palette for brown eyes the best! This houses six shades of browns, bronzes and a fabulous navy - all of which work really well together to create a variety of looks.
