One of Spain’s most influential designers Jesus Del Pozo, has died at the age of 65.
Spain’s Fashion Creators Association released a statement last night saying that the designer had died of a lung problem.
The Association’s president Modeto Lomba said that although Pozo was weak in the months before his death, he worked with commitment and energy until the end.
Lomba said: “We have to recognize he was one of the instigators of Spain’s current fashion era,”
“He made possible the reality the rest of us live in today.”
The Madrid born star opened his first outlet in Madrid in 1974 and his first collection was unveiled in 1976.
