I've poked my head into the Queen Beauty Emporium on Aungier St, Dublin 2 a couple of times to have a nosey at the fabulous Kevyn Aucoin makeup range which is stocked exclusively there, but recently I had the opportunity to try out some of the treatments in the salon.
I was treated to a selection of pampering treatments by the lovely beauty therapist Lorna Cox.
First up was a facial, Lorna took a look at my skin and asked about any complaints I had at the moment - which was mainly congestion in the T-zone. After taking a closer look, she decided to go with a Microzone facial, which included a shoulder and arm massage.
Before the treatment began I had a back massage (which is an optional add-on extra of €25) which was much needed. Bad posture sitting at a desk and lugging around a much-too-heavy handbag at all times has meant that I often suffer from lower back pain, and this really helped to work out tension.
The facial was truly relaxing, included a cleanse, exfoliation and facemask, and when Lorna handed me a hand mirror to take a look at the results, I was truly astonished. My skin instantly looked brighter, clearer and illuminated from within - it was really impressive.
I also got a file and polish using the OPI professional nail polish range. I went for a shade I hadn't tried before - a very beautiful neutral taupe with a hint of rosiness which looked really chic on.
Other facial treatments available at Queen include Dermalogica's fabulous range, MD Formulations for Face and Glycolic Peels if you are looking for a deeper treatment.
Salon owner Zara Cox also informed me that Lorna is a brow expert, and brow shape costs just €15.
A few great packages they offer at the salon is a make-up application using Kevyn Aucoin's range plus a blowdry for €90, and make-up application plus facial for €130. Perfect for a big night out when you want to look your best!
