Versace is the latest designer brand to collaborate with high street retailer H&M.
Announced this morning, the Italian luxury brand joins the impressive line of designers who have worked with H&M since 2004 including Roberto Cavalli, Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson, Karl Lagerfeld and most recently, Lanvin.
Speaking about the collaboration, creative director of Versace, Donatella Versace, said "I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching its wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere".
The collection will be unveiled in stores on November 17th, followed by a pre-Spring collection in mid-January 2012. Womenswear will cater for the party season with silk, leather and print dresses as well as statement shoes and costume jewellery. Menswear will focus on sharp tailoring and will put more of an emphasis on belts and jewellery for men.
For the first time since these designer collaborations begun, a designer will design select home pieces including cushions and bedspreads, with rumours of cutlery and dinner plate sets.
Creative advisor for H&M, Margareta van den Bosch, added that "Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant - everything Versace stands for".
Last year’s Lanvin collection, by Alber Elbaz, sold out in minutes in most stores and was one of the biggest and most successful collaborations to date.
