Christian Louboutin has collaborated with iconic photographer Peter Lippmann to showcase the A/W 2011 collection.

The idea behind the lookbook is recreating masterpieces and Lippmann has taken the iconic Louboutin shoe and placed it into even more iconic masterpieces including Whistler's Mother by James McNeill Whistler.

The theme of the collaboration is 'the power of femininity', while showcasing historic powerful figures and images in art. One of the most stand out photographs is inspired by Francisco de Zurburan's 'Saint Dorothy of Caesarea', showing the model literally presenting a purple 8 mignons sandal on a platter.

Not content with sticking to shoes, the accessories are also featured in the campaign. The most notable of which is the image inspired by Jean-Marc Nattiers 'The Portrait of Marquise D'Antin', featuring the Artemis shoulder bag.
