I may have a new expensive habit with Novalash's eyelash extensions, but this salon treatment is truly transformative and worth the spend - especially for special occasions.
I have a love-hate relationship with false lashes - I love how they look, but a lack of expertise in applying them means that they usually start lifting at the edges as the night goes on, giving a 'I've had a few too many' effect which is not ideal.
Bearing that in mind, I jumped at the opportunity to try the Novalash treatment, which involves individual lashes being bonded to your own lashes.
I tried this treatment at newly opened salon Mimi's Beauty Room in Sandymount, at the hands of lash expert Karen Buckley.
The whole treatment takes about an hour and a half, and is surprisingly calming. I nodded off a few times during the process, which just goes to show how non-invasive it is.
When asked what kind of effect I preferred I immediately said "Dramatic!", and the results mirrored my desire.
The impact was incredible - my lashes looked fuller and longer, without looking really false. They opened up my eyes hugely and, best of all, felt totally weightless to wear.
These last around 4 weeks - the natural lash growth cycle - with touch ups recommended after this.
I find I don't need mascara at all - so I immediately feel more 'done' when I wake up in the morning! They can get a bit clumped together when wet, but separate easily with a small brush.
For a full set of lashes the price is €100, while touch ups are €40.
I would recommend this highly for brides-to-be - it's a fantastic treatment that will make all the difference for wedding photos!
