Lisa Laudat - L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Hair and Make-up artist - tells us how she created Cheryl’s striking red carpet look in Cannes using L’Oréal Paris products.

Glowing skin - to add luminosity to Cheryl’s skin after arriving in Cannes from America Lisa applied Youth Code Boosting Serum, followed by a light coat of Infallible Brush 24hr foundation in Golden Sand and contoured the cheeks with Glam Bronze Duo in Brunette. Under the eyes Touche Magique concealer was gently applied.

Golden eyes – for an eye catching look Lisa mixed two eye shadows together: New Color Infallible eye shadow in Goldmine (available from September) and Color Infallible eye shadow in Endless Chocolate to the lids of the eyes. Cheryl’s eyes were then framed with both Superliner and Contour Kohl eyeliners in black. To complete the golden eye look, Lisa applied Telescopic mascara in Carbon Black to Cheryl’s eye lashes.

Lips – to achieve a full plump lip – Lisa applied Color Riche Boosting Serum lipstick in Luminous grape and added a bit of shine with New Glam Shine Fresh in Aqua Curacoa.

Nails – to compliment the make-up Cheryl’s nails were painted in Resist & Shine Titanium in Black Gold.

Lisa Laudat's Step by Step Guide to Cheryl's Sleek Cannes Film Festival Ponytail

Lisa Laudat created a glossy, high shine pony tail for Cheryl at the Cannes Film Festival. The sleek style perfectly complimented Cheryl’s Stephane Rolland dress. Re-create the look with this step by step from Lisa Laudat, L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Hair and Make-up artist.

1. Wet hair with a spritz of water and then apply L’Oréal Paris Studio Line Silk & Gloss Volume Mousse to the roots to give hair added bounce. Really work the mousse into the scalp and blow dry with a large roller brush to create height and volume.

2. Create a side-parting by using a pin tail comb, this will help to create a clean line. Slick down the front section of the hair with a pea-sized amount of Studio Line Flick ’N Sweep gel cream to hold in place.

3. Lightly backcomb the crown with a soft bristle brush to add volume and fullness to the hair. Follow with a generous spray of Elnett Satin hairspray to secure the lift

4. Gently run a brush over the hair to smooth the backcombing and keep the look sleek. Pull the hair back into a ponytail in line with the ears and secure it by hooking a bungee into the ponytail, wrapping it around the hair and hooking back into itself to hold securely without snagging.

5. Split the ponytail into two sections, with one smaller than the other. Take the smaller section and wrap it around the top of the larger ponytail securing it with grips – a great way to ensure that the grips hold thick hair is to bend the ends of the grips into a hook as this will add more support.

6. Once the ponytail is secure, brush through the lengths and spray all over with Elnett Diamond Hold and Shine hairspray to give this glamorous look firm hold and high shine. Spray some more Diamond Hold hairspray onto hands and smooth over the top of the hair and the side parting to give a super-sleek finish.
