I am always more than happy to pay a visit to Donnybrook’s Wilde Salon – they offer amazing hair and makeup services – and now it has added another string to its bow with their new brow service.
Brow artist Lorna Farrelly has been brought in from Cork to tend to unruly brows with a combination of threading, tweezing, and most importantly perhaps – dyeing.
She chooses from a selection of 11 dyes (most salons only use three) to make a bespoke colour for your brows. What I was most impressed by was her analysis of my style and face shape to tailor the final look of the brow, I really didn’t realise the amount of work that went into the process.
Having never had my eyebrows threaded before I found it a little eye-watering – but luckily it didn’t last too long. Lorna then tidied up the arch with a tweezers before moving on to the dyeing – which she did in stages to build up the colour gradually.
Lorna also tints your eyelashes during the whole process – which made the reveal even more startling as I had my eyes closed throughout the treatment.
I was completely amazing by the difference this made. Having had a very notable ‘brow disaster’ about a year ago (where pretty much half my eyebrows were waxed off in one fell swoop) I was a little apprehensive about leaving my brows in the hands of someone else!
My worries were unfounded though. Lorna paid special attention to making each eyebrow perfectly symmetrical which opened my eyes up and gave me whole face a great shape.
She also used a bit of concealor to cover up any redness – so you can come straight out of the salon fully confident in your new brows!
This is a surprisingly transformative treatment that really hits home the importance of groomed brows to your whole look.
This treatment costs €45 and available at Wilde Salon, 93 Morehampton Road, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.
