The sheer dress modelled by Kate Middleton at a charity fashion show has been sold for £78,000 to a collector from Jersey.
The dress, which was designed by Charlotte Todd, cost £30 make and was estimated to go for £10,000, reports Vogue.com.
The designer Todd said after the auction: "I am totally speechless, and feel very emotional.
"I really didn't think it would make that amount. I am planning to put some of the money towards a deposit for a house, but perhaps I may use some to change my career."
Middleton modelled the dress at the St Andew's University fashion show in 2002.
